Meet Dr. Owart

Spending formative years on the Frenchman Hills, Dr. Birkin Owart is proud to have the opportunity to return home to provide comprehensive oral healthcare to the individuals and families of central Washington. His father, Norbert, was involved in the tree-fruit industry for more than 30 years and until recently, his aunt Dr. Laura Hoyt maintained a veterinary medicine practice in Quincy, WA.

While in dental school, Dr. Owart took advantage of a wide variety of extracurricular educational opportunities to include continuing education, research, and volunteering. Dr. Owart surpassed more than 80 continuing education hours, with an emphasis on dental implants. In collaborating with the Department of Orthodontics, Dr. Owart’s research focused on neurotoxin (Botox®) therapies for the masseter muscle, while also pursuing elective Botox training for clinical applications. Believing in the spirit of giving back, Dr. Owart was routinely seen at outreach events working with underserved populations.

As a result, Dr. Owart was recognized through awards by the Pierre Fauchard Academy – Washington Section, the University of Washington Research Advisory Committee, the Office of Educational Partnerships & Diversity, as well as the Outstanding Dental Student in Implant Dentistry. 

Dr. Owart actively participates in the Washington State Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Academy of Osseointegration.

In the Office

Dr. Owart’s practice philosophy revolves around encouraging health in others through personalized counsel and treatment options. His intention is to bring the best and most current knowledge of dental practice and apply it toward your health. He believes all treatment should be performed in a caring, exacting, and ethical manner.

Family and Community

Outside of practice, Dr. Owart can be seen training for a variety of athletic competitions to include running, cycling, duathlon, and triathlon. A proud music alumnus of Central Washington University, Dr. Owart writes and performs music for saxophone. When not traveling, Dr. Owart spends most Sundays playing with his adorable nieces Olivia and Quinn of Selah, WA.
